Chapter 01
Ants, fleas, ticks and chiggers live in the turf, not the house
A treatment of the house does not reach them, which is why people who have quarterly pest control still come back from the garden covered in bites. Ants, fleas, ticks and chiggers spend their lives in the grass, the thatch layer underneath it and the shaded edges of the lawn.
Chiggers in particular are a central Texas speciality and they concentrate exactly where people walk barefoot. Ticks work the boundary between mown grass and anything longer. Fleas arrive with wildlife and then wait in the turf for a dog.

Treating the lawn as its own zone
The technician treats the turf itself, then works the transitions, because that is where the density is. Fence lines, bed edges, under low shrubs, the shaded strip beside the house and anywhere the mower cannot reach neatly.
Elimination first if there is an active problem, then prevention so it does not simply re-establish over a few warm weeks.
If you also have fire ants, that is a separate and more specific programme with a broadcast bait. The technician will tell you which of the two you are actually looking at rather than selling you both.
Chapter 03
Residential and commercial turf
King's does this work for houses and for commercial properties. On a commercial site the lawn is often the part of the grounds the public actually stands on, so it carries more risk than the building does.
Either way the schedule is yours. Most residential customers fold lawn treatment into a quarterly or bi-monthly visit so the whole property gets handled on one trip, and there is no long term contract on any of it.
If you have a dog
Say so when you book. Flea and tick pressure changes the priority of the treatment, and it changes which parts of the yard matter most.
